According to Arrigo Cipriani, the present owner of ‘Harry’s Bar Venice’, the carpaccio as invented at his restaurant in 1950 when the Countess Amalia Nani Moncenigo nformed the bar owner that her doctor recommended her to eat raw meat and fish and this wonderful dish was created.
